What the credits buy
HeyGen’s help centre lists the credit cost of one minute of video on its newer avatar models:
- Avatar IV video look: 31 credits per minute
- Avatar V video look: 48 credits per minute
We list no Avatar III rate: HeyGen’s own pages give different figures for it. HeyGen says credit use also depends on the video length and other options.

Rollover
- Monthly plans: unused credits roll over for one more month.
- Yearly plans: credits accumulate until the annual renewal date.
- Credits do not carry over after cancellation.
Free vs paid: commercial use
The Free plan adds a watermark and its output may not be used for commercial activities or advertising. Paid output may be used commercially. Before you run paid ads with an avatar, read the HeyGen paid-ad licence wording and our usage rights guide.
Which plan for which job
- Testing the tool: Free, with a watermark and 1-minute videos.
- A few short avatar videos a month: Creator. 600 credits is about 19 minutes on Avatar IV.
- Weekly content or several languages: Pro, moving up the credit tiers as needed.
- A team with shared seats and videos up to 60 minutes: Business at $149 plus $20 per extra seat.

Yes. Creator drops to $24 a month billed yearly, and Pro to $41 a month ($488 a year).
How many videos do 600 credits make?
It depends on length and model. At 31 credits a minute (Avatar IV), 600 credits is about 19 minutes. At 48 credits a minute (Avatar V), it is about 12 minutes.
How are these costs checked?
